Eathink was founded by me, Pepita. I’m a creative soul who has lived experiences of eating disorders, mental health challenges and destructive body image. I found my way out and now I’m here to help you find yours too.
During my healing journey I felt a growing need for a new approach towards helping women to set themselves free from food related issues. Most of the help I could find was either solely focusing on mental health or nutrition – but nothing which combined the two. I decided to educate myself within both areas and am now a certified nutritionist and have a B.A in Psychology. Today, I’m on a clear mission to coach, inspire and educate other women around nutrition and mental health related challenges.
Women are twice as likely than men to be diagnosed with some sort of eating disorder. According to research conducted by MQ Mental Health, one in five females aged 16-24 is diagnosed with an ED. However, it’s not only women with a diagnosis that suffer from a problematic relationship with food and a negative body image. Thanks to misleading and problematic beauty standards many women create an unhealthy body image which in turn often leads to destructive eating habits and an underlying fear of food. On top of that, most of us also lack actual knowledge about nutrition and how our bodies work. All of this self-harming behaviour need to stop. We have to challenge the unrealistic ideals, change our thought patterns and educate ourselves about nutrition – and stop dieting – otherwise we’re missing out on life.
Eathink is a holistic coaching service and approach to do preventative work within these areas. I believe that we can shift focus from what ‘healthy’ looks like, to what ‘healthy’ feels like – but it requires some work. Many women have to relearn everything they think they know about food, to set themselves free. With knowledge comes power and Eathink will give women the knowledge they need to understand the importance of natural and nutritious food, without making it another obsession. By understanding the core elements, everyone have the power to create a sustainable lifestyle without any restrictions, only active choices. Eathink also encourages women to challenge their ways of thinking about themselves and their bodies in order to begin the journey towards self-love and compassion.
